Iiris (1989) is a Copenhagen based cellist from Northern Finland. After finishing her master studies in Sibelius Academy Helsinki she’s continuing her studies at the advanced postgraduate program at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. She has performed widely in Europe and the United States.
Iiris is keen of chamber music and investing new possibilities and styles as a musician. She has experience from playing with for example The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.
Iiris has worked with young composers and played in various festivals for contemporary music, such as Uuden musiikin lokakuu, Ung Nordisk Music and Athens new music festival. She’s also into improvising and has recorded and performed with experimental artists. Iiris is also working as a cello pedagog and has been a part of developing Sistema Finland.
As a teacher, Iiris is interested in hearing what the student expects from the lessons and about their hopes and possible questions. Based on that together with the student she will set some goals and work with the challenges, always in a safe and supporting atmosphere. She has experience from teaching students from the age of 5 to 60, both beginners and more advanced level, groups, orchestra and private lessons.

Som ny elev får du altid 50 pct. på de første 30 minutter af introlektionen, hvis du efterfølgende køber mindst et 5-turs kort. Undervisningen foregår på engelsk og på dansk for dem, der endnu ikke taler engelsk.
