About the teacher
My name is Kalypso, and I am currently a student at Syddansk Musikkonservatorium (SDMK) in Odense. I was born in France and lived there until I was 10, after which I moved to Romania. I began playing the flute at the age of 11 at a music-focused high school.
I have received a comprehensive classical music education in three languages: in Romania I studied in Romanian, in France in French, and here in Denmark in English. This multilingual background allows me to teach classical flute in French, Romanian, or English.
About the lessons
I teach the flute, and my main focus is on developing a healthy and enjoyable approach to practicing and playing. A lesson with me usually begins with gentle stretching exercises to prevent any physical tension or pain, followed by breathing exercises to support good sound production.
From the very first lesson, we work on sound quality and technique, building a strong foundation step by step so that playing becomes easier and more natural over time. Alongside these fundamentals, we explore a variety of pieces, which we can choose together — or the student can select music they feel excited about.
I adapt my teaching to each individual student, as everyone learns differently and has unique needs. What matters most to me is that my students gain confidence, enjoy the process of learning, and feel proud of their progress as flute players.
