About the teacher
I am a classical pianist originally from Bulgaria and currently based in Copenhagen. I have studied in Bulgaria, Denmark, Austria, and Italy, and hold a postgraduate degree in Piano Performance from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
Alongside my career as a performing pianist, I have been teaching piano at Malko Dirigentskolen for six years. Since 2021, I have also worked as a collaborative pianist at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
As a performer, I have given concerts in almost every European country and regularly perform solo and chamber music concerts in Denmark. I have also recorded CDs for Brilliant Classics, Claudio Records, Aulicus Classics, and Danacord Records, which you can find on Spotify.
About the lessons
Music has always been my greatest passion, and I love sharing that passion with others. As a pianist and teacher, I enjoy both performing on stage and helping students discover their own musical voice. Whether you dream of developing as a professional musician or simply want to play the piano for your own enjoyment, I will adapt the lessons to your goals, interests, and level.
I believe that learning music should be both inspiring and rewarding. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment where you can develop your technique, musicality, and confidence while enjoying the process of making music.
When we meet, we will begin by exploring where you are on your musical journey, what you would like to achieve, and what kind of music inspires you. Together, we will choose repertoire that is both enjoyable and rewarding to learn and play, while also helping you develop your technique, musicality, and confidence.
During our lessons, we will work on the things that will help you become a more independent and expressive pianist — from developing a comfortable and natural technique to understanding the music, shaping phrases, and bringing your own personality into your playing.
I will provide the sheet music and any other materials you may need, so that you can focus on what matters most: enjoying the music, discovering your own musicality, and making progress along the way.
Galya teaches in Danish, Bulgarian or English.
